For the NEIT system to be truly effective, we encourage all equine breed societies to come on board by aligning their registration rules to create consistency across the industry. By working together, industry sector groups can help ensure a smooth transition by:

• Updating Stud Book Identification Requirements: to require all foals born from 1 August 2025, to be microchipped to be registered with breed societies.

• Updating Privacy Policies/Rules: Now is the perfect time to review and update privacy policies/rules to allow studbook information to be shared with the NEIT system in the event of a disease incursion, ensuring a swift and effective response when needed.
